What is it?
The Route
Organised by volunteers, the Trail follows a 26 mile route across undulating Wiltshire countryside with stunning views across the Vale of Pewsey and the Avon Valley.
This "unique" route links two of the UK's World Heritage sites - the ancient stone circle of Avebury and the world famous Stonehenge.
The route is a mix of undulating grassland tracks and roads with variable surfaces, partly across the Salisbury Plain training area which may be rough and rutted due to vehicular activities.
A choice of route
Walkers may choose to undertake the full 26 miles from Avebury to Stonehenge or either of the two stages - Avebury to Redhorn Hill (11 miles) or Redhorn Hill to Stonehenge (15 miles).
A free coach service is available between start and finishing points.
Walking Routes
The following website has lots of information about walking routes. Including favourite routes, where to stop for food and drink, and places of interest. Hopefully there's something for everyone.
