Swindon Hockey Club achieve England 1st Accreditation
Swindon Hockey Club will be holding a Press Launch at the Jovial Monk Public House on Monday 12th January 2009 at 7pm where they will not only be receiving the England 1st Accreditation but will be introducing their new Sponsors e solutions .
The event will be attended by representatives from the local Council and Schools and the Schools Partnership scheme as well as the local Press . The West Hockey Ladies President Mrs Jan Baker will also attend
The club which has over 50 playing Members will also be unveiling their aspirations for their four Year Plan up and including achieving National League Hockey status in both men’s and Ladies Hockey .
The Club who play all their home matches at Isembard School have recently moved from Greendown and are looking forward to maintain good relations with the local area. They have an active social programme as well as a progressive Youth Development system, prove is in the pudding when several of the current Adult team members started as juniors within the club thanks to coach Chris Jones a former teacher at Greendown School and Member of the England LX Veterans Hockey Team currently European Champions and world Grand Masters which they have just achieved in a tournament held in Hong Kong last month.
New Chairman Craig Sage welcomes enquiries from new members and is looking to strengthen the Squads during the Season the clubs mission statement is “ We strive to make hockey enjoyable for current members and always welcome new comers “ certainly proves that this club is raising its profile in the eyes of the Community
The club has been boosted by the Appointment of its new Corporate Communications Officer Steve Pratt, who has just joined the club from North Wilts after 5 successful years.
Steve Added “ Swindon Hockey Club is a Premier Club with the Potential of Progressing Further up to and Including National League Status and we hope to develop steadily within the next four years “
